Preserving birds that have been killed for museum records and display follows specific protocols. Dave Mossop, a Yukon ornithologist, assisted students prepare museum display for a number of species of birds. Between 1996 and 2003 more than 30 birds have been preserved for display. Specific measurements for each specimen have been recorded. Dave conducted a demonstration related to the record keeping and preservation of the bird and one or two students would prepare a bird for class study and for the Yukon College collection.
